Stevie is Ruining my Sleep!

For the non animal-lovers out there, you might want to skip this post- I know how some people think that letting animals sleep in your bed is gross. Just look at this face though!

So I am guilty of letting my dog, Stevie, sleep in my bed. In my defense she never starts there. I set her up in her bed on the floor and she usually falls asleep before I even turn off the light. That sweet little face, has an agenda I've come to discover! She waits until I am asleep or very near it anyways, and then puts her little paws on the bed to plead with me. Out of sheer laziness (given I am half-asleep) I let her up. She gets way deep in the covers and falls right to sleep.

BUT, problems have surfaced. It is affecting my sleep, therefore measures need to be taken.

Stevie, for one, has to be touching me... and I hate it! I am constantly pushing her away. She also has taken to sleeping directly in the MIDDLE of my bed.... taking up as much room a 25 pound pooch can. So I'll move her away to a side, only to wake up an hour later with paws in my back and her in the middle again! Ugh.

There are 2 other habits to mention. My little princess, cute as a button, SNORES! It's not just hard-breathing either, it's like the snore of an old man. When the snoring wakes me up, I begin to reposition her until I find the right position that will make her snoring stop.

The last habit is kind of my favorite (it's cute, really, but I need sleep!). She loves to go way down in the covers (I kind of prefer her there, because it muzzles the snoring). However, she overheats! I wake up to her trying to shake the covers off and then like a mole she starts coming up from the depths... and she is PANTING! I mean really panting! Like, "I just finished my fastest 100 yard sprint" panting. It makes me laugh every time, but, again, sleep deprivation is the subject here.

I've laid it all out for you guys. Please remind me to make her stick to the bed on the floor! I need sleep!

Nikki, I have 4 times at problem; with (mom loudest snorer) mav holds down the foot of the bed as his own, ty under covers and tootsie right in the middle.
Now that Ben is staying with us; I think Lisa has the right idea. she has him sleep in his crate. He gets in and dose not move until morning. Well,I guess we got what we got. Oh, were do you think steve sleeps when she's here.:>)

It IS pretty hard to say no to that sweet face when she tries to crawl in your bed in the middle of the night. Trust me, she's pulled the same move on me! But Nikki, you did fail to mention how after she comes out from under the covers from overheating, she manages to lay her head on your pillow right beside you and keep the covers halfway over her....I mean, she's like a REAL person!!
