Sofia Update

Well this is a surprise, but it looks like I get to be an Auntie THIS Sunday!!! I am sooooooo excited. Lisa went into her weekly Dr's appointment and found out that Sofia is breech (head up instead of head down). Sofia is so high up in my sister's tummy that they didn't think they would be able to turn her so C-section it is! Lisa's appointment is this Sunday at 9am.

You know there will be pictures to follow! I get to be an Auntie sooner than expected!!! yayayaya!

This is about how I am feeling right now..

San Fran Fun

Last weekend Nate and I met up with his family in San Francisco for an action-packed weekend. Although we were only there for a long weekend we fit a ton of stuff in. We had a GREAT time!

Here are some pictures of our first couple of days. Hopefully I can post the rest of the trip when I get Nate's pics. I tried to keep them in chronological order.. so here we go

Thursday we arrived at around 4. We took the bart to our hotel and met up with the rest of the group who had beat us there. We hopped on a trolley and made our way to Pier 39. Later, we went to a seafood restaurant called Scoma's. Although, it was a LONG wait, the food was really good (my ahi even came prepared "very rare").

Here are the Butler "kids" and Don, Nate's dad

We had wonderful weather, but it did get cold in the evening. This is Charlie, Nate's newest nephew, bundled up in the cold.

We ended up eating at a breakfast place called Mel's Diner almost everyday. It was convenient because it was close to the hotel, they never had a problem accomodating a party of 10, and their french toast was pretty good too :)

Mark and Kate (aka Charlie's parents)

Lynn and Don.. oh, and Charlie, of course

Mike and Emily

Friday morning we took a trip on the old cable cars. This was more fun than I expected - the driver was hilarious and it was just a really neat way to view the city.

Lynn, Peter and Brittney in the cable car

Nate and Mike got the best seat... hanging on to the back!

We also checked out Lombard street, the famously curvy road. This is also where the cable car riders met up with the walkers.

Emily and Mark carrying Charlie up the many stairs

Charlie didn't seem to mind the stairs at all ;)

Nate showing us his cartwheeling skills down the very steep street

We got some ice cream at Ghiradelli Square. Best chocolate chip ice cream ever! I promise we did not eat all this chocalate... Mike just thought it would make for a better picture

We took a "Super Cat" tour around the bay. It was cold and windy but very pretty. We got to see Alcatraz and and the Golden Gate Bridge.

From the left - random girl, Peter, Brittney, Nate, Emily, Mike, and Lynn

Hopefully more trip and pics to come....

Wipe Out!

Lately, the family (Nate, Erin, Andrew and I) have been hooked on the new ABC show, Wipe Out. If you enjoy people falling down and getting muddy while doing so, please do your self a favor and catch an episode.

For your viewing pleasure click Wipe Out! This is the "qualifier" from episode one. It's a long clip, but our FAVORITE lady is on 3:50-5:40. Lets just say she is th reason we are hooked. I've never heard Nate laugh so hard in my life! Enjoy!

3 Years and Counting..

Tonight Nate and I are going out to dinner to celebrate our 3 years together. I can't believe it has already been 3 years! Time has flown! It's funny, before Nate, if I saw a couple that had been together for more than a couple of years I'd think the couple had been together forever. I would wonder, "Do they run out of things to say to each other?" Haha..

*You may be thinking that I picked a weird picture of Nate and I for this post, but I don't think so. It is a picture from my sister's wedding, the photographer caught a moment with Nate, and I think it pretty much sums up how happy I am to be with him.. in case you were wondering.

Life After the IPhone

This weekend Nate finally got an IPhone. I have to say, he was very patient to have waited so long, especially because he waited in line with my dad and bro-in-law the very first day they came out, over a year ago. Nate couldn't be happier with his new trinket and it seems like the more he learns about it, the more he likes it.

However, since the phone arrived on the scene I've noticed a change in Nate. We can only hope it's a passing phase since the phone is still new.. Let me give you an example of the problem.

Conversation since the IPhone goes a little something like this:

Nikki: Nate, what do you want to do for dinner?

Nate:

Nikki: Ummmm... Nate? Hello? I asked about dinner..

(Minute passes)

Nate: Uh what? Did you say something?

This is life after the IPhone. I didn't know the phone came with "symptoms," but I'll keep my fingers crossed that Nate will be cured soon.

Vacation to HB

This weekend's trip to "Casa de Carlos" (as my dad, Charlie, called it) was a whole lot of fun. There was A LOT of bike-riding and A LOT of time spent in here...

Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us all stay. Can we make reservations for the weekend of 8/9? :)
