Colorful Colorado

In case you didn't know, Nate and I are contemplating a move to Colorado. We thought it would be best to take a quick vacation over the holiday weekend. I feel like it went by in a flash, but we had a great time.

The first night we got there (Friday) we met up with Nate's friends who were eating at an Italian restaurant in Lafayette. It's always fun to hang out with Nate's old friends, especially sense they are so much like Nate.

Saturday Nate, Derek, Morgan and I met up with Nate's family at CU to watch the football team WIN. Although the first half was a little slow, the second half picked up and the ending had us all jumping around.

This is a pic from inside the stadium before the game. The Stadium (and campus for that matter) is absolutely GORGEOUS. I loved having the mountains in the background..

This is a picture of Derek and Morgan. Derek and Nate have been friends since the fourth grade and most people think they look like brothers. You can't really tell from this picture, but I agree..

Charlie, Nate's nephew, is the cutest little one year old.. Somehow I took the most pictures of him, go figure!

My favorite part of the game is when "Ralphie" the buffalo ran around the field escorted by 5-6 guys. Nate told us that this Ralphie is a lot faster than the last one and it all showed when one of the runners couldn't keep up and got dragged 10 feet before letting go. It was hilarious.

After the game we went into Boulder and had "The Sink" which is a famous pizza place there. It was delicious, but not as good as the homemade calzones Nate's brother and sister-in-law made us.

Sunday we headed to Greeley where Nate's Mom and Dad live. It was fun because Nate's two brothers and their families were all there. Like always, there was a lot of eating and a lot of card playing. I ended up learning a new game called Shanghai which was our major source of competition.. Yes, Nate's family is as naturally competitive as I am.

While we played we were usually serenaded by Charlie who loves playing the piano..

This is Mark, Kate and Charlie on Monday night, aka Calzone Night..

Pete, the master Calzoner, didn't just put the calzones together, he also made the dough from scratch. It was so delicious, I am salivating as I type about them.

The calzone station. Each calzone was made for each individual.. I went with everything but the pineapple.

Nate's mom and dad, Lynnette and Don, enjoying their calzones. They were smart enough to leave leftovers for the next day... I ate my whole thing :/

We had such a great time. Thank you so much to all our hosts!
