About 2 years ago my mom introduced me to the concept of $5 savings. The way it works is whenever you have a $5 bill in your wallet, you don't spend it, you save it. What's $5, anyways, right? Create a special spot/purse/envelope to hold your $5 and watch your stash grow! Keep it for rainy days, a big purchase, or save it for vacation money, like this stash will be used.
I am a big advocate of the $5 savings. What will this buy us on our trip? Maybe parasailing, food, transportation, and/or other fun activities. The best part is you don't feel like you are tapping into your money when you are just using your $5 bills you don't often think about.
Happy Savings!

Yay for Belize! We'll see you guys at the airport tomorrow...bright and early. :) PS - I love the new wedding pictures you posted...is there a link to the photographer's site??
What a great idea! I've got a couple of 5's that I may put away right now. Hope the Belize honeymoon is fantastic!

Loved the idea! I've always put away any "change" from bills and then roll it and cash it in. I call it "free money". In fact I have almost $200 in my stash right now. Your Belize trip sounded like a dream! You got some great pictures.
So glad you had fun! See you in August at the "ranch". It definitely won't be same as Belize, but this time you get lots of family to share the fun! (Is that a plus?) Auntie Yvonne
