Stampede!

While in Greeley, one of the highlights of the trip was the Greeley Stampede. I've been to the Orange County fair before, but this was definitely more focused on the rodeo. When we got there we all dispersed to our favorite vender and got some din-din. I went for the giant turkey leg. Honestly, I thought it was delish!

After dinner we headed straight to the rodeo. It was a blast! The mutton bustin' was by far my favorite. It's where kids are propped onto a sheep and have to hold on for dear life while the sheep runs around. Hilarious!

Of course there was the usual rodeo features:

We were all excited for funnel cakes. We just couldn't wait to dig in..

that is, until we tasted them! It was more fried grease than bread. Nate and I could only finish about a 1/4 of ours. Needless to say, there was more than one belly ache that night.

After watching all that bull-riding, we wanted to give it a whirl. A few of us gave the mechanical bull our best shot. Here is Don looking like a real cowboy :)

The Stampede was definitely an experience. I'm sure there are more Stampedes in my future.
