A Wedding Colorado Style

Not many people can say that after they get married they have a honeymoon AND an "extended honeymoon." However, as you all know, Nate and I like to go against the grain, so our "extended honeymoon" was 11 days in beautiful Colorado. We had 2 reasons for going: 1) One of Nate's best friends, Derek, was getting married; and 2) Nate's Dad, Don, turned 60 years young. We had a wonderful trip. For this blog post, I think I will just focus on reason 1.

The wedding weekend started on Thursday, June 25th with a quick drive to the mountains to the Winter Park area. When we got to the house Derek had rented for his groomsmen we were in awe. The house was huge and had a beautiful view.

Thursday night we went to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The food was yummy, however, it was pouring for most of the night. Uh oh, will the outdoor wedding work out??!!

The day of the wedding the groom, groomsmen and all their significant others sat down to sandwiches. In the background it was raining, but no one said a word about it.

Derek got all his groomsmen BluBlocker sunglasses. I think it's an inside joke from the 80's; something about the killer rap on their commercial. I'm not sure (I was only 0-7 yrs old). Nate rockin' his BluBlockers:
About an hour before the wedding the clouds parted and from then on the day was B-E-A-utiful. It was a gorgeous scene. This is a picture as I walked towards the wedding:
The orange paper umbrellas added a colorful flair:
The ceremony was wonderful. Introducing Derek and Morgan Pedersen!

The wedding was great. I'm pretty sure I wowed most guests with my dance moves ;)

The day after the ceremony we decided to do the alpine slide at Winter Park. For those CA readers, an alpine slide is a big cement slide where you sit on a plastic cart on wheels and just go as fast as you can down the thing. Kind of scary, but definitely fun! See the squiggly thing? That's it!

Slight side note. I LOVE Nate's friends. It's so easy to see that some of Nate's wonderful attributes came from having such great friends. It is always fun to see Nate with his longtime buddies.

Great wedding, great time. I love the Colorado mountains! More to come on our trip to CO.
