Gettin' it Done!

Right now is a critical time for me and the credential program I have been in for the past year and half... A time that says, "I am almost finished!" But before I can do a little celebratory jig, there are a few things that are standing in my way. Most notably, The PACT. The PACT is a ginormous project that makes me research my students, plan a perfect learning segment for those students, videotape the lesson, reflect, and write, write, write. In all, this project is around 100 pages long and is one big thorn in the behind (the 100 pages includes resources, hand-outs, student samples, etc., not just my own writing, don't worry). HOWEVER, I only have two more weeks until it is due, meaning two more weeks until it is out of my hands, meaning jig-time.

I was feeling a little overwhelmed last night and wanted to cry when I thought of how much work I still have to do. Okay, not just a little, REALLY, REALLY overwhelmed. After a bad night's sleep (my anxiety kept me nice and awake), I actually woke up today with renewed strength. I can do this!

It's just one more example of stepping back, stopping yourself from looking at the big picture, and taking one thing at a time. I know I can do this.

The good news is this.. My credential app is turned in and ready for review once I turn this sucker in. Also, I was nominated from my program for the Philip Halfaker Award, an award honoring one student for their excellence in student teaching.. That application is in (it's between me and one other student). So I need to just focus for two weeks, get this thing done, and celebrate. Wish me luck!

My teaching philosophy ;)
