Our Home Away from Home

It's easy to say that we are more than happy with our accommodations here at Damiani Resort. To be honest, upon arrival (given I was on VERY low sleep) I was a little disappointed and the snob in me had wished that the resort was a bit more updated. However, after being here a few nights I am in love with Damiani! What I had initially taken for old and run-down I now see as its charm and character. This place really is one of a kind (as you could figure out by the sheer amount of Italians who pay to be members of the Country Club here). So now let me introduce you to... (drum roll, please).. our bungalow :)

Come on in and let me show you around. View from the front door:

Our little dining table and Landon showing you his European high chair:

Our kitchen, equipped with stove, microwave, toaster, and electric kettle.... so what's missing?! An oven. No worries, we have a grill pan and bbq outside so one way or another our chicken will be cooked :)

Through the little archway in the first two pictures is where you will find the bathroom and two bedrooms. Our bathroom is very bright and clean:

It wouldn't be a European bathroom with out a bidet! haha

Our bedroom:

Lando's bedroom, which we've rearranged a bit:

Both rooms have a dresser and then a closet with a mini dresser. Lando's crib is basically a European Pack n' Play. The major difference is that it's bigger for our little man:

My FAVORITE part of our little bungalow.... the old-fashioned, wooden blinds! These puppies shut out all light which has made for some of the best sleep we've ever had. Landon has been sleeping 13 hour nights and 2 hour naps! He'd go longer but I get him up in fear of him over-sleeping. It's like sleeping in a cave! Where can I find these in the U.S.?!

We have a patio that runs outside our kitchen and down to Landon's room. I can't wait for it to get a little warmer to have some BBQs and card playing out there.

Our bungalow definitely has the best view of the main building. Check out those real deal Italian folk down there:
Underneath the grassy overhang is the hotel's very nice and delicious restaurant. Our first Sunday here, we were sad to find out that the restaurant was closed on Sundays... but don't worry, they didn't want us going hungry so they just opened it up and made us a nice dinner of steak and veggies (I'm telling you I love this place!).

The grounds have all sorts of things (hings you'd expect at any Country Club I guess), including 3 pools, skating/indoor soccer rink thing, gym, go cart track (not in use at the moment, though) cafe, and 4 serious looking clay tennis courts. This place is definitely a hub for tennis lovers. Also, one of the pools (the one on the right in the picture above) is a thermal pool that gets drained nightly. We are yet to go in, but can't wait to try it out!

So that is our abode. As you can see, we have plenty of room for visitors so feel free to stop by :)

Looks like a great set up. It was fun to see you guys in your current surroundings on ichat the other day. We love that you're having this experience, and we're a tiny bit jealous. Keep the pictures coming!
