Heart to Heart

Today, Nate and I went in for our second doctor's visit for little Peanut. While this was not the most exciting of visits (mostly just discussing tests and answering questions), we did get to hear Peanut's little ticker. It's hard to explain what it sounded like, but if I was going to spell it out, I'd say it sounded like a little "Wugh, Wugh, Wugh." It sounded more like little rushing noises than an actually heartbeat. It was cool to hear and exciting to know that there REALLY is a little being in there. The heart rate was a perfect 160, which was great to hear. A couple times the baby's heartbeat and my own were being picked up so that you could hear my loud, slow beats and Peanut's little, quick beats at the same time. I loved it!

Everything looks good and healthy with our little one. The only thing that was a little funny is that I've only gained 2 lbs. I don't know how this is possible since I feel like I am constantly eating, but the doctor was happy to hear it is probably due to my healthy eating. I'm sure I've lost muscle too, because I sure do FEEL chubby.

My 2nd trimester officially starts Saturday. Hooray!

Awesome! :) How cool that you were able to hear both your heartbeat and the baby's heartbeat at the same time. Hope you guys are doing well!!
